Hi, we're Gavin and Dawn, the husband and wife team behind Boscastle House.

We met back in 1990 – I was a mortgage broker in North London, and Dawn worked for the Halifax. My manager actually set us up on a blind date! We married in 1993 and went on to have two wonderful sons, Daniel and Ben.

The idea of running a hospitality business came to us during a motorhome holiday in Scotland. We initially dreamt of a Scottish castle, but our search eventually led us to the West Country. After a couple of property deals fell through, we found Boscastle House and made the move in March 2020. Unfortunately, that was one week before the first lockdown – not exactly ideal timing!

Despite the rocky start, we have settled in and are enjoying the Cornish lifestyle. and the wonderful guests we meet from all over the world.
